Project Learn

As a result of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds, L'Anse Creuse was able to offer to its employees a two-day, intensive problem-based learning academy entitled ProjectLearn.  Sixty-seven K-12 teachers applied and were chosen to attend this two-day camp delivered by Melinda Kolk and Joseph Machado of Tech4Learning.

Throughout the course of two days, participants gained a foundational knowledge of problem-based learning, essential questions, software skills, and more.  The goal of the academy was for teachers to leave with a finished problem-based learning unit including lesson plans, rubrics, high quality student examples, and any additional materials they felt were necessary to successfully facilitate a problem-based learning focused lesson.

As a sub-menu of the the above Project Learn tab, you'll find projects completed by ProjectLearn attendees.  Projects are broken down by elementary and secondary levels.  Many of the lessons have contact information for the creator of the lesson, however, if you'd like more information and cannot find contact information, please feel free to contact Liz Allen at [email protected] or Susan Trebilcock and [email protected].

As a part of ProjectLearn, participants received a comprehensive manual designed for L'Anse Creuse by Tech4Learning.  For your convenience, you can find this manual here.  Additionally, for more information about ProjectLearn, visit either Tech4Learning
